Ayr swimmer Cerys McCrindle has been selected once again to represent Great Britain at the Down Syndrome Swimming World Championships in Portugal.

The 24-year-old South Ayrshire Swim Team member is the only Scottish female in this year’s GB squad.

The championships take place in Albufeira from 30 October to 7November, with Cerys qualifying for nine events but planning to focus on seven, including freestyle and butterfly races.

She is the reigning 100m butterfly European champion and is hoping to challenge for the world title.
