The Fit Ayrshire Dads have raised just under £8,500 for Whiteleys Retreat after taking part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk.
The group, made up of more than 20 local men, completed the challenge for a range of personal reasons but came together to support the children’s cancer respite charity based in Alloway.
Whiteleys Retreat provides free breaks and support for families affected by cancer, and the charity has praised the group’s continued commitment and fundraising efforts.
An Irvine sports bar is raising money for a local cancer charity through ticket sales for Scotland’s upcoming World Cup group games. Bar 10 will show the matches against Haiti, Morocco and Brazil, charging £5 per ticket with all proceeds going to Irvine and Troon Cancer Care. The venue has secured a licence to screen the games and hopes to sell out around 200 tickets per match, helping to support a cause closely connected to the co-owner’s own experience.
