The Cumbrae Ferry Users Group is encouraging islanders and regular passengers to take part in a consultation on proposed changes to the winter timetable.

CalMac is holding a public drop-in session at the Garrison Glass Room on Thursday 1 October with sessions from 3 pm to 5 pm and again from 6 pm to 7.30 pm.

The latest draft includes additional sailings during morning and late-afternoon commuting periods, improved rail connections and two extra sailings each day.

Work is also continuing on the multi-million-pound Cumbrae slipway redevelopment, with contractor George Leslie building a longer and wider facility.
