Ayrshire set for million-pound growth fund

AYRSHIRE is set to receive an £11.8million boost to support economic growth across the region.

The UK Government has approved a new Local Growth Fund investment plan, with the cash being distributed through to 2029 and supporting business innovation, community infrastructure, skills development and employment training.

The funding will be delivered through the Ayrshire Regional Economic Partnership, with Scottish Secretary Douglas Alexander saying it will help create skilled jobs, support start-up businesses and expand apprenticeship opportunities.
