An Ayrshire couple have marked 56 years of marriage and one’s 80th birthday with a joint celebration at Greenan Manor Care Home in Doonfoot.
Mary and Andy Wilson first met at a barn dance organised by the East Ayrshire Motorsports Car Club.
They married in August 1970 at Kirkoswald Parish Church, followed by a reception at the Queens Hotel in Ayr attended by more than 100 guests.
Greenan Manor staff organised a special meal for the couple, who said friendship, open communication and sharing a laugh have been important to their long marriage.
