Medical practice closure to honour Havers

Wards Medical Practice in Kilmarnock will temporarily close on Friday, July 17, from 10.30am until 1.30pm, to allow staff to attend the funeral of former colleague Vicky Havers.

Havers worked at the practice for more than 20 years before retiring and was remembered by colleagues as the “heart, soul and joy” of the team.

She was affectionately known as “the vampire” because of her skill in taking blood samples and was praised for the compassionate care she provided throughout her career.

Emergency cover will remain available for urgent medical needs during the temporary closure, with normal services resuming afterwards.
