Detectives are appealing for information following a recent “violent and distressing” assault and robbery in North Ayrshire.Â
The incident took place in Largs on Monday 29 December which saw two males approach a man walking his dog on Nelson Street and robbing him of his mobile phone leaving him needing hospital treatment.
A police report revealed that the two men made off towards the coastal town’s Moorburn Road after stealing the device which was later recovered.
The two men are described to be in their late teens to early twenties ranging from 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in in height with dark clothing.
In a statement, Detective Constable Fraser Barr said: “This was a violent attack that left the man injured and distressed.
“We are appealing for witnesses, who may have seen two men around 5.15pm on Monday, either walking of running along Moorburn Road or in the direction of Middleton Drive or Gateside Street.”
