Three young viral pipers from Ayrshire have been recognised as part of Scotland fans’ takeover of Boston for the World Cup, and have made national news as a result.
Luca Dixon, 12, alongside brothers Leighton, 13, and Noah, 14, from Irvine have been praised for displaying their musical talents as the Tartan Army descended on America’s east coast for their opener against Haiti on June 13.
Known as The Bagpipe Brothers on Tik Tok, the trio have played their part before Saturday night’s fixture and in amongst a mass walk to Fenway Stadium for a baseball match between Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers.
The arrival of charity hero Craig Ferguson, who walked over 3,000 miles across America before the tournament’s start, also saw the boys strike up the noise to recognise a remarkable and emotional achievement.
Proud grandfather Sandy Dixon fronted up to the media hours before the Haiti clash, and believes this adventure out in the States is “good practice”.
He said: “The boys are 12, 13, and 14 and this is the chance of a lifetime for them, not to be missed.
“The reception has been fantastic. We were out at the Common for Craig (Ferguson) coming in as part of the pipes that piped him in, and what an atmosphere it has been.”

The video interview posted by the Scottish Sun showed spectators applauding the efforts by the Dixon brothers as they finished a rendition of a Scottish tune.
In response, Sandy added: “What an attraction. As soon as they strike up everyone seems to be magnetised and comes along to see them.
“The boys are absolutely loving it.”
Dixon also added that the boys have been part of the Irvine Pipe Band in growing their skills with the traditional instrument.
An estimated 24,000 members of the Tartan Army are said to be in Boston for their World Cup group stage matches .
A first-half John McGinn goal was enough to see Scotland grab their first victory at a FIFA World Cup since 1990, when they beat Sweden 2-1 in Genoa.
