Singer releases new Tartan Army remix

Stevenston singer Annastaisyar is preparing to release a new remix of her single The Famous Tartan Army ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

The updated version of the track will be released on May 22 and features driving rock guitars, accordion, pipes and chant-style vocals inspired by Scotland football supporters.

Proceeds from the release will go to IPA Scotland and IPA Brazil, charities which promote children’s right to play.

The project also became a family affair after the singer’s six-year-old niece, Indie Menzies from Largs Primary, designed Brazil’s first official tartan and appeared during filming for the project.

Annastaisyar, whose real name is Anna Muir, first released the song in 2024 with scenes filmed in Irvine.
