Primary pupils given TV doctor opportunity

Pupils from East Ayrshire primary schools were given the opportunity to put their questions to a real-life doctor and CBBC presenter during a visit to Dumfries House.

The children of Auchinleck and Sorn Primary schools were invited to tour the educational farm, see the animals and meet some of the new arrivals before interviewing Doctor Chris van Tulleken, one of the hosts of Operation Ouch!.

Their questions covered subjects including neurodivergent and neurotypical brains, coeliac disease and how the body copes with diabetes.

Teachers said the pupils had researched Dr Chris beforehand and had been working on and practising their questions.
