North Ayrshire’s roads network has seen a significant improvement in national rankings following recent investment. The area is now ranked 10th out of 32 local authorities in Scotland for road conditions.
Council leaders say continued funding, including the newly approved £8.3 million programme, will help maintain and further improve infrastructure. The upgrades are expected to benefit both residents and businesses across towns including Irvine and Kilwinning.
Visitors have a limited-time chance to see a rare historic timepiece at Dumfries House near Cumnock. The Pragnell Bray Origins Clock, which played a role in saving lives at sea, is on display until May 7. A special event will take place on May 6 at 6pm, featuring a talk about the clock, along with a Champagne reception and dinner. The estate, owned by King Charles III, is hosting the exhibition for a short period only.
Plans to revamp Ayr Town Hall Gardens have officially been approved by South Ayrshire Council’s Regulatory Panel.
