A major redevelopment of Woodroad Park in Cumnock has moved a step closer after a detailed feasibility study outlined proposals worth around £1.8 million.

The study, produced through a partnership between East Ayrshire Council and Ayrshire360, sets out plans for projects such as a new sports courts, a café and community hub, and a BMX track.

Councillor Neill Watts welcomed the completion of the study, saying it provides a clear roadmap for the park’s future after years of work by the Woodroad Park Events Group and the Cumnock Action Plan.

A public consultation will take place later this year while funding opportunities are explored.
