East Ayrshire Council is developing plans to introduce a network of Family Hubs designed to support families before problems reach crisis point.

Council leader Douglas Reid said the hubs would bring education, health and support services together to help people facing issues such as poverty, poor mental health, addiction and unemployment.

Council officers are now looking at successful models from elsewhere in Scotland and England before bringing detailed proposals back to elected members.

No locations or opening dates have yet been confirmed.
