An Ayrshire farm has sent approximately 56,000 litres of Scottish organic milk to England and Wales to help with supply issues caused by drought conditions.
Mossgiel Organic Dairy near Mauchline said demand from businesses south of the border had increased sharply, with three companies contacting founder Bryce Cunningham within around ten minutes to ask what milk could be supplied the following week.
Mossgiel was also asked for a further 40,000 litres, but did not have enough available.
North Ayrshire has been named the second best place in Scotland to raise a family, according to a new study by MoneySuperMarket. The area ranked highly for housing affordability, with an average house price of £136,435, compared with a Scottish top-15 average of £167,257. South Ayrshire was fifth in the Scottish rankings, while East Ayrshire came sixth. The study also considered factors including earnings, road safety and community.
Ayrshire businesses are being asked whether a direct air service between Prestwick Airport and London would support their work. Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce is working with Prestwick Airport to gather views from companies, including how often they travel to London and what a direct route could mean for their businesses. […]
