5k raised in annual charity swim
More than £5,000 has been raised for Sir Jackie Stewart’s Race Against Dementia after 25 swimmers completed the annual Cumbrae to Largs charity swim. Participants gathered at Cairnie’s Quay on Saturday 5 September before travelling to Millport and taking on the open-water crossing back across the Firth of Clyde. Derek Evans was first ashore in 32 minutes and 21 seconds, with all 25 swimmers completing the challenge in under an hour despite strong mid-channel currents.
