An Ayrshire engineering firm say they are delighted after partnering with a Scottish healthcare campaign, in a movement to make a “significant difference”.
Irvine-based Booth Welsh has teamed up with Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative to bring free PSA testing for men aged 40 and over to their Head Office on Monday 24 August.
The event will provide 350 free tests for their local communities in a mission to tackle the “most commonly diagnosed” cancer in males.
A spokesperson from Booth Welsh assured that anyone taking up the opportunity will receive “quick, simple and completely confidential” appointments at their centre, which requires blood samples.
They said: “With consent, additional blood samples may be collected to support research into improving prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment.
“The PSA test will be sent directly and confidentially to you, along with guidance on any recommended next steps if required.”
Prostate Cancer UK confirmed recent statistics to be showing roughly 5,000 new diagnoses and 1,000 deaths annually amongst men in Scotland.
