M&S foodhall approved for Kilmarnock

Plans for a new Marks and Spencer foodhall in Kilmarnock have been approved by East Ayrshire Council, paving the way for a major retail shift in the town.

The new store will be located at Queen’s Drive Retail Park and is expected to safeguard 71 existing jobs.

The proposed foodhall will be smaller than the existing store but designed to meet the retailer’s modern format, with an expanded food offering.

The move is also expected to have an impact on the town centre, where the current store accounts for a significant share of retail turnover.
