Kilwinning Blacklands Crescent flytipping sparks rat infestation

Residents in Kilwinning say ongoing flytipping at Blacklands Crescent has led to a growing rat infestation affecting nearby homes. The land, which was previously earmarked for a housing development, has been used for illegal dumping for several years.

Locals, including those living opposite the site, say the situation has worsened despite repeated complaints to North Ayrshire Council. Some residents have even paid for private pest control after rats entered their homes, with concerns also raised about the impact on mental health.
