Annbank United capped off a historic week following the appointment of Gordon Inglis as their new club chairman.
The New Pebble Park side started their “exciting new chapter” confirming their election to the West of Scotland Football League next season, with their former player and coach coming on board last week.
Inglis, who has built a “highly successful” career in the automotive and technology sector, returns to the amateur club having vast amounts of playing experience at the likes of Troon and Auchinleck Talbot.
The Bankies took to social media sharing their delight at welcoming Inglis back.
A spokesperson from Annbank said: “Gordon brings a wealth of football experience, both on and off the pitch, with a journey that spans youth football at the highest level in both England and Scotland.
“He is hugely excited to work alongside the excellent core already in place – players, staff, volunteers, and supporters alike – to drive the club forward both on and off the pitch and within the community, as it enters an exciting new chapter.”
Speaking to Now Ayrshire, new chairman Inglis believes the ambitious return to his former club means a “great deal” in helping them through this latest transition.
He said: “I’m absolutely delighted to take on the role of Chairman at the club I was incredibly proud to represent as a player.
“We’ve got ambitious plans for the future: both on and off the pitch. As a club, we want to be a real focal point for the Annbank and the surrounding communities, while also driving standards and success on the park as we look to progress through the junior ranks with purpose and pace.
“It’s the reward for five outstanding seasons at amateur level, and full credit must got to the players and coaching staff for what they have achieved.”
Annbank United currently compete in the Budget Blinds Premier League, sharing the division with the likes of Glenburn Miners and Shortleees.
2021 saw the Bankies make the move across to amateur level following the formation of the West of Scotland Football League, formerly the junior ranks.
They return to the setup joining the likes of Castlemilk, Eddlewood, and Gartcosh United.
