Sudden closure for Kilwinning pitch amidst condition concerns
The all-weather football pitch at Kilwinning Academy has been closed following concerns about its condition, prompting criticism from local amateur football clubs. North Ayrshire Council decided to shut the facility, which is leased by KA Leisure, after becoming aware of the issues last week. An assessment is now planned to establish the condition of the synthetic surface and identify any safety concerns or repairs required. No timeline has yet been set for the pitch to reopen.
