Ayr bakers enter new chapter

An era has come to an end in Ayr as Home Bakery owners Gordon McBlain and Stevie Corrigan have retired after running the popular George Street business for 24 years.

The pair, who became well known for the bakery’s traditional pies and tattie scones, say friendship and hard work were the secrets to their success.

From today, the bakery enters a new chapter with Ayrshire firm Stobbs taking over the business.

Customers can expect the famous pie recipe to continue, while Stevie will remain for a short period to help with the transition.
