An Ayrshire addiction charity has praised two ladies’ upcoming fundraiser to climb one of the world’s highest mountains.
Harbour Ayrshire are excited to back Laura McGivern and her friend Mary’s journey to climb Mount Kilimanjaro later this year.
The charity say they are excited to support the ladies’ training building up to their big day in October to raise vital funds.
The duo, known as “Two girls with altitude” on social media, have been named “female warriors” in taking on the climb in memory of a loved one known as Bobby.
A post from Harbour’s Facebook page read: “We are honestly blown away by their strength, courage, and generosity.
“Taking on one of the world’s highest mountains for such an important cause is nothing short of sensational.
“We’re asking for all our followers to show their support and get right behind these two phenomenal human beings – they truly deserve it.”
On their JustGiving page, McGivern said: “We’re doing this to raise money for an incredible local charity that supports people affected by addiction and helps them rebuild their lives with dignity, support and hope.
“Every donation, no matter how small, means the world and will help Harbour Ayrshire continue the amazing work they do.”
Laura and Mary will ascend Africa’s highest peak on October 2.
Harbour Ayrshire was founded in 2022 and continue to work in helping and empowering those in the region recovering with addiction issues
